I am 33 years old and am married to my high school sweet heart! We have been married for 11 years (April15,2006) We have 2 handsome boys.......Austen is 10, and Blake is 2.
Growing Up
Well like many others my parents divorced when I was 7 years old. I grew up going back and forth between the two of them and then with other family members as well. My mother ended up going in the wrong direction before their divorce and became a alcholic and drug user (still is that I know of).The time as a child spent with her, was few because she would take me somewhere to have someone babysit. However most of the time when that happened I stayed with my grandma, Lillie. Yes indeed it was a rough childhood growing up but I thank God for it all. I see Gods hand in so much growing up and how he protected and sheltered me many of times. It was not until adulthood that I became a believer and excepted Christ as my personal Savior.... Long after I had made many wrong descisions in my life that would clearly effect the rest of it. God is ever loving and forgiving and when I surrendered my life to Him he made ALL things new!!! He took a broken marriage and restored it!! I styarted dating my husband when we were in out sophmore year in HS. He was really goodie goodie for me, as I was a bit on the wild side. But we stuck in through and mostly I think stayed together for security reasons. I never really felt like I belonged to anyone because of being so tossed around as a child (well some of that was my BAD descisions...I ran away) Never thinking we would marry we moved out together and called that a COMMITMENT...?? We sometimes would discuss it but the two of us always said marriage meant we would get a divorce...silly thinking I know but to us it was a very real thought. But God was gracious and gave us a son Austen, I was 3 mo PG when we married. Soon after that God began working in my heart and we bought our first home in Dec of 97. It was then I was talking to our new neighbors, and we decided to start looking for churches in our town. I surrendered my life to Christ and started attending church on a regular basis.
I love my husband more then I could ever imagine! By God's grace he has taken a broken marriage and repaired it. I thank Him daily and continue to pray for his loving direction in my life. He has given us two beautiful Boys. I pray that we will serve Him and give Him all the honor and Glory for everything!!
